His Eminence Tsem Tulku Rinpoche
His Eminence Tsem Tulku Rinpoche was born in 1965 in Taiwan to a Tibetan father and a Mongolian princess from the royal house of Minh of the Torgut Tribe, a descendant of the famous Mongol King, Genghis Khan. At the age of 7 Rinpoche was adopted by a Mongolian-Kalmyk foster family in the United States and had his early education there. With consultation to his root guru H.H. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche he entered the great Gaden Monastic University, South India at the age of 19 where he studied Buddhist Philosophy. At Gaden Monastery, he was formally enthroned and recognized as the incarnation of the 60th Abbot of Gaden Shartse Monastery, Ken Rinpoche Gedun Nyentrak during the time of the Great 13th Dalai Lama. Rinpoche had a strong wish to stay in retreat but was requested many times by his teachers to teach the Dharma instead.
In 1996, His Eminence Tsem Tulku Rinpoche was invited to Malaysia by Malaysian Buddhists to impart Dharma teaching. Nonetheless he has gained a reputable image among many Malaysian Buddhists which brought him to travel to many countries in Asia & Europe to give Dharma discourses. Rinpoche has since resided in this region to lecture the Principles of Buddhism.
The concept of Buddhism Rinpoche transmits is appropriately categorized as “Alternative Buddhism for Alternative People” suitable for today’s modern, sophisticated and busy society. His great depth of understanding of Buddhadharma strips off the superfluous and presents it in a form and manner appropriate to the needs and conditions of the modern world. Rinpoche is loved by the modern or non-traditionlists. He is charismatic, dynamic, compassionate, open-minded and generous and possesses a highly-developed intellect. There is a certain uniqueness and power in the way he conveys his experiential words of wisdom – it has charm, humor, openness, humanity and spontaneity that appeals to all.
Rinpoche’s personal life continues to inspire his students as an immaculate example of someone who has found inner happiness through practicing Buddha’s teachings. He emphasizes the importance of discovering ourselves and how to apply Dharma in our daily life to be truly happy, and how to cultivate a good heart to help others - and he demonstrates these qualities perfectly in his own life. This remarkable teacher inspires many people from many different countries because he teaches from example. He is humble and dedicated to helping people to find true happiness in their hearts.
Among many other projects, Rinpoche has built schools for refugee children, built dormitories and upgraded living conditions for the Sangha community, upgraded monasteries and hospitals, set up relief funds for Sangha members and provided assistance to the poor and the under-privileged. This is an impressive list of accomplishments, but it is only the beginning.
Today, Rinpoche is the Founder and Spiritual Advisor of the Kechara Group of entities – Kechara House Buddhist
